Land Use Workshops Series

Help Shape the Future of Your Community!

Morgan County and its planning team are hitting the road with a series of community land use workshops as part of Rooted in Morgan, the county’s joint comprehensive plan update. Each jurisdiction will host its own workshop, creating an opportunity to focus on the unique character, opportunities, and future of Bostwick, Buckhead, Madison, Rutledge, and Unincorporated Morgan County.

Whether you live, work, or spend most of your time in one of these communities, we invite you to join the conversation and attend the workshop that best represents your connection to Morgan County.

Each workshop will begin with a brief presentation introducing the Rooted in Morgan planning process, highlighting key findings and community trends, and providing an overview of the evening’s activities. Participants will then work alongside the planning team in small groups to share ideas, discuss priorities, and help shape a vision for future growth and land use in the community.

Come hungry! Complimentary food will be available while supplies last. Arrive on time to grab a bite, connect with neighbors, and hear important information that will help guide the workshop activities.

Your voice matters. Register for the workshop in your community using the appropriate link below and help us build a future that is truly Rooted in Morgan.

We ask that you please register in advance for the land use workshop of the community you most associate with. Each workshop will have a specific focus on the titled community, and these materials and activities will not be available at other meetings.

What is Rooted in Morgan?

Rooted in Morgan is a joint comprehensive plan for Morgan County, the Cities of Bostwick, Madison, and Rutledge, as well as the Town of Buckhead. Generally speaking, a comprehensive plan guides growth, development, and key public investments. Rooted in Morgan will look at Morgan County as an interconnected whole through the county-wide comprehensive plan, but also respect the unique qualities, challenges, and community visions of each jurisdiction through a "family" of individual guiding plans. Engaging the community is critical to shaping these plans! Check out our "Engage" page to find out how you can get involved!
